The Midjourney bot is your new best friend. It's the one that will generate all those beautiful images for you.
Step 1: Add the bot: While on the Midjourney server, look for the member list. It's an icon in the upper right that looks like the silhouette of two people. Find "Midjourney Bot" in the member list and click on it. Then click "Add to Server."
Step 2: Select your server: Choose the server you created earlier, and follow the instructions on Discord.
The Basics:
How Midjourney works in cooperation with Discord to generate images
Discord is a Windows, Mac, Iphone and Android app. I recommend downloading and using it on either a Windows or Mac Computer and either an iPhone or Android app, but I'll get into that later.
If you think of a chat room as an actual room, imagine a building that all of those rooms are in. Now imagine a city full of buildings. In Discord, a "chat room" is called a Channel, and it's usually named by the subject discussed in it, such as "#general" or "#strategies" or "#tips" and the owner of the building names them. The building is owned by you! It's called a "Server" and in the case above, this server is all about a video game we'll call "War Combat", so the server will be "War Combat's Server". For your own private Midjourney image creation, you might name your server "Joe's/Jane's Midjourney Server" or anything else you like, and you'll have a "#general" room (channel) automatically put inside your building (on your Server) to start with when you create it. That's the only one you'll need for this.
There are two things you need to know at the very basic level:
1. What Discord is, how it works, and that it is free to use
2. What the Midjourney Bot is, how it works, and that it is not free to use
Great news! Neither one of those things are complicated and it'll take me a couple minutes to teach you.

Midjourney Bot
The Midjourney Bot is like nothing more than an artificial intelligence you will invite to chat with you in your own private building, which I'll only refer to only as "your server" from now on. Anyone inside your building has access to all of the rooms inside (which I'll only refer to as channels from now on), so if you're in the #general channel, the Bot will be in there with you, too. While not free, Midjourney is very inexpensive ($8/month, yearly - $10/month, monthly) and it is by far the gold standard at this point in time for image generation.

Generating Images
Step 1: Open your newly installed Discord app and log in with your account.
Step 2: Head over to the Midjourney website, and click "Join the Beta." Choose a subscription plan that suits your needs. They offer a variety of plans with different features, so pick what works for you. The basic plan is more than enough for most individuals. If you need more later, you can always increase your plan.
Step 3: Join the Midjourney server on Discord: Now, it's time to join the Midjourney server. On Discord, click the "+" button at the bottom of the server list, click on "Join a Server," and paste this URL: http:/discord.gg/Midjourney. Hit "Join," and you're in!
Step 1: Create your account: Pop over to the Discord registration page and sign up. All you need is your email, a unique username, and a password.
Step 2: After signing up, you'll receive a verification email from Discord. Click on the "Verify Email" button in that email to secure your account. It's essential as it ensures you keep your username and all the servers you join.
Step 3: Verify your phone number: This is optional but provides an additional layer of security. You can verify your phone number by going to your account settings, clicking on the "Add" button next to the Phone Number section, and following the prompts.
Step 4: Download the Discord app from the Discord download page. You can use Discord directly on your computer, or the app for Android/iPhone. Having both is beneficial. The mobile version allows you to generate images on the go, while the desktop version offers a more seamless typing experience. If you have it on both, any images you've generated on one will be there to access on the other, preventing having to transfer images from your phone to computer and vice versa. If you really don't have the space on your computer or phone, you can still use the web interface to access Discord.
Use the /imagine command: In any channel on your server, type "/imagine", then hit the space bar. Once you've done that, a box will open for you to start typing your prompt. For example, "/imagine [space bar] a serene sunset over a calm lake." The bot will interpret your prompt and start generating the image. It typically generates four images from a prompt, giving you plenty of creative options.
And there you have it! You've successfully set up Discord, joined Midjourney, invited the Midjourney bot to your server, and generated your first image. I told you it would be a fun ride! Now, go ahead and explore, create, and most importantly, have fun. And remember, I'm here if you need any help along the way. Happy generating!
